To secure your placement, a £100 deposit is required, with the remaining balance payable according to your chosen programme.
Both the deposit and final payment are non-refundable. You may choose to make the full payment on your first day (without paying a deposit at the time of application), but this does not guarantee placement; allocations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Application Process for Clinical Attachment
Step 1: Complete the Application Form
Fill in the application form below (all fields are mandatory).
Incomplete forms may delay the processing of your application.
Please note: each cohort has a maximum of 2 placements to ensure high-quality supervision and meaningful learning opportunities, and places are allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
Step 2: Submit Your Documents
We will review your request and confirm whether a slot is available in your chosen cohort.
Please refer to the Documents Required section on this website for the full list.
Step 3: Secure Your Placement with Payment
To confirm your place, payment is required as follows:
£100 deposit – secures your attachment dates. A payment link will be sent to you via email.
Final balance – can be either paid immediately or on the first day of your placement (amount depends on your chosen programme)
Please note: your place will only be guaranteed once the deposit has been received.
Step 4: Optional Informal Visit
You are welcome to arrange an informal visit before your attachment begins.
This includes a 45-minute tour of The Hoyland Centre and the chance to meet members of our team, including doctors.
If you wish, you may also make your deposit payment on the same day as your informal visit to secure your place.
Step 5: Induction & Start of Placement
Your personalised timetable will be sent to you one week before your placement begins. (If you choose to make full payment on your first day, your timetable will be issued after payment is received.)
On your first day, you will receive your welcome pack and ID badge, and attend an induction at the GP practice.
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend your allocated cohort or wish to withdraw your application, please notify us by emailing syicb-barnsley.hoyland@nhs.net.
